How old is TOO old to Trick-or-Treat?
This is me and my sister. I am on the right. We did this for Halloween (duh!) in 1994. I was 19, out of school for 2 years. (By the way... I did that awesome make-up job!)
We.Had.A.Blast.
I know it might sound crazy but I really do not think there should be an age limit on Trick-or-Treating.
I mean... if I could go out dressed up in a costume just for some candy - I totally would! The only reason I don't is because it's too cold around here and I just want to hurry up and get it over with. And would people even really know how old you were behind the mask or make-up? Every single year Mike wants to dress up... but then when Halloween gets closer and the kids end up being so expensive... we just decide that we've spent enough on Halloween and don't get Mike anything. Poor guy.
I think high school kids could have a really good time - getting a bunch of friends together and all dressing up to go Trick-or-Treating. As long as they behaved, then why not go out and have some fun and get some candy?
And if I was home, handing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters, I totally would not mind giving candy to high school or adult Trick-or-Treaters.
So what's your opinion?
Do you think there should be a cut-off age as to when kids should be old enough to stop Trick-or-Treating?
Let us know in a blog post or in a comment below!

Seriously love that picture. That is awesome. And I agree! Trick-or-Treating is about having fun no matter how old you you may be.
ReplyDeleteAbout 7 yeas ago, Mike dressed up in bloddy overalls and carried a chainsaw (without the chain) and followed our kids Trick-or-Treating. He had a blast. He did end up getting some candy.
DeleteGreat picture! I do think Trick-or-Treating in neighborhoods is for younger kids though, although I wouldn't turn away teenagers as long as they are dressed up! Adults, that's another story! They can go buy their own candy!! LOL I know, I am mean! HAHA! I think you should do a costume review in the off season to get Mike a costume and he can save it for Halloween next year! :)
ReplyDeleteNever ever too old!
